Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

Machine Learning Engineer role on the PIE team, building systems that power autonomous AI agents in live financial conversations.

What you'll do

• Work across ML problems including Voice, Data, Recommendations, Infrastructure, LLMs, and Product.
• Train LLMs for AI agents used for consumer finance.
• Develop evaluation tools, harnesses, and monitoring systems.
• Build ML models, design the ML system, fine-tune and integrate LLMs, and tune prompts.
• Debug real-time issues in an applied, hands-on engineering role.
• Own technical areas from problem definition through production deployment.

What you'll need

• 2–5 years of hands-on engineering experience with exposure to ML/AI systems in production.
• Solid Python fundamentals for writing maintainable code and debugging production issues.
• Some experience with LLMs including prompt engineering, API integrations, or building simple pipelines/agents.
• Ability to take feedback well and ship, with a bias for action.
