Manager – Azure Data Engineer – SAP BW4HANA, Advisory

Overview

Manager-level Azure Data Engineer role in PwC's Advisory line of service, focused on SAP BW4HANA data modelling, development and migration to SAP Datasphere.

What you'll do

• Develop end-to-end SAP BW4HANA models using ADSOs, Composite Providers, Open ODS views, transformations, BEx Queries, native HANA views and mixed scenarios.
• Lead or contribute to BW to SAP Datasphere migration/conversion initiatives, including object assessment, data model redesign using Datasphere best practices, and validation and reconciliation of migrated data.
• Perform ABAP development for data extraction, custom logic, enhancements and performance optimization.
• Optimize data models for performance, scalability and future extensibility.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects and analytics teams to understand reporting and data requirements.
• Support integration with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and other reporting/BI tools.
• Provide production support, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Ensure compliance with SAP standards, security and data governance guidelines.
• Map business requirements to the technical architecture design and data model.
• Drive workshops with the business to gather requirements and translate them to SAP Enterprise solutions.

What you'll need

• 5-9 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor of Engineering degree (BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech or MBA, MCA, 60% and above).
• Excellent technical know-how and hands-on experience in SAP BW4HANA, HANA views and ABAP.
• Strong SQL experience and AMDP scripts; start/end/exit/expert/field routines, function modules and BADIs; good at debugging ABAP code.
• Experience in BEx Query Designer, customer exit variables, and roles and authorization.
• Aware of LSA++ standard methodology and performance optimization concepts, including handling complex transformations using ABAP.
• SAP BW4HANA, BW-on-HANA expertise (modelling, extraction, reporting).
• SAP and non-SAP extraction.
• Functional knowledge of SAP modules (SD, MM, Inventory, FICO, PS, PM, HR etc.).
• Troubleshooting and system architecture skills.
• Experience on a BW4HANA to Datasphere migration project.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and oral interpersonal skills, with interaction with multinational clients.
• Ability to communicate complex technical constructs to business and non-technical users.
• Ability to work under tight and strict timelines.
