Manager, Cloud Engineering

Overview

Manage technical support staff who design, build, implement and support cloud computing platforms at Vanguard India in Hyderabad, providing technical leadership and mentoring junior staff.

What you'll do

• Hire, evaluate and supervise crew, providing guidance and training to develop them.
• Set performance standards, review performance and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
• Manage the resolution of the most complex platform issues elevated from staff and clients.
• Manage technical support staff who implement, monitor, troubleshoot and install cloud computing platforms across all systems.
• Plan, develop and execute short-range goals and strategies to meet department, divisional and corporate objectives.
• Develop and implement changes to department policies and standard operating procedures to meet changing business needs, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead quality initiatives to improve service levels.
• Deliver software maintenance and ensure optimization of system uptime and performance for critical technology.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and maintain platform standards and implement new technologies for enterprise-wide infrastructure projects.
• Develop technical standards to serve Vanguard technical needs and manage the ongoing performance of IT cloud vendor products and services.
• Learn and understand client area business functions and requirements, and determine the appropriate technical tool to address client business needs.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain the security of cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with internal business standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and monitor hybrid cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, uptime and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline the deployment, management and scaling of cloud-based resources.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, designs and system configurations.

What you'll need

• Minimum 8 years of experience in managing complex enterprise-wide cloud infrastructure projects and environments.
• Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expertise in designing, implementing and supporting cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) at scale.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodology, JIRA and Confluence for project and incident tracking.
