Manager Data Engineering

Overview

Manager Data Engineering role within Zoetis Tech & Digital Global ERP at the Zoetis India Capability Center in Hyderabad, leading data engineering work on Azure data platforms and mentoring a team.

What you'll do

• Manage and oversee technical and functional aspects of projects.
• Design and develop data pipelines, workflows, and data transformation processes using Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks.
• Integrate various data sources to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
• Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Oversee and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines: extract data from various sources, transform data to meet business requirements, and load data into target systems efficiently.
• Design, implement, and maintain database systems, including PostgreSQL and Azure databases.
• Monitor and optimize database performance and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and use Git for version control and collaboration.
• Apply Agile methodologies for project management and delivery.
• Work with infrastructure and security teams to ensure seamless integration, deployment, and security controls.
• Engage with business partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Identify and resolve issues promptly within SLA guidelines, providing ongoing support to business users.
• Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Understand global manufacturing supply processes such as production planning, quality, inventory, and supply chain, along with MES and SAP-ERP landscape.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or applications.
• 8-10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering/Science.
• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering/Science.
• Almost 1+ years in a lead role.
• Hands-on experience in Azure Data Factory and Data Bricks.
• Expertise in Python, database management, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Hands-on experience in Python and back-end programming languages.
• Experience with data analysis, data modelling, data profiling, and architecting data analytic solutions.
• Utilize knowledge in data visualization tools and libraries.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Technical skills: Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, ETL/ELT, DB management, Python, SQL, visualization tools, CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Graph-DB.

Details

• Location: Hyderabad, India (Zoetis India Capability Center).
• Full-time role.
• Regular working hours from 11 PM to 8:00 PM IST, with more overlap with the EST time zone required during production go-live.
