Manager Data Engineering, ITC

Overview

Lead and manage enterprise data engineering efforts within Nike’s Global Technology organization at the India Tech Centre in Bengaluru.

What you'll do

• Lead the design, build, and operation of enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Deliver batch, real-time, and near-real-time data pipelines for analytics and AI/ML.
• Oversee data lakehouse and data warehouse layers for ingestion, transformation, and integration.
• Manage data quality, observability, metadata, governance, privacy, and security standards.
• Drive DataOps and engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and automation.
• Plan priorities and manage delivery cadence, roadmap, staffing, and stakeholder alignment.
• Evaluate and adopt new tools and technologies to improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience building and operating production-grade pipelines and platforms.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Strong Python proficiency.
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark or PySpark.
• Experience with cloud data platforms/services such as AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Experience with orchestration/transformation/streaming tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Kafka, or Kinesis.
