Manager - Data Scientist

Overview

Manager - Data Scientist role focused on supervising data science projects and leading analysis of structured and unstructured big data sources.

What you'll do

• Supervise project teams (subject matter experts) to design and develop methods, processes, and systems for analyzing big data.
• Build team capability to perform complex statistical and data-mining analysis using tools such as R, SAS, and MATLAB.
• Interface with internal customers to analyze requirements, handle requests, derive insights, and align actions and KPIs.
• Develop and manage teams building analytical models, algorithms, and automated processes for large datasets.
• Use SQL and PHP or Python to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets.
• Plan project priorities and manage resource planning, allocation, hiring, training, and performance management.

What you'll need

• Demonstrate depth and/or breadth of expertise in a specialized data science discipline.
• Ability to build complex statistical and data-mining capabilities using R, SAS, and MATLAB.
• Experience designing data acquisition systems, data structure, and database design.
• Competence with SQL and PHP or Python for cleansing, integration, and evaluation of large datasets.
• Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices.
• Ability to communicate complex insights to product, service, and business management.
