Job description

Overview

Manage and grow a team of Developer Advocates across EMEA, shaping how developers in the region discover Temporal and supporting major customers in building on it. The role combines people management with hands-on technical work.

What you'll do

  • Hire, coach, and support a team of Developer Advocates across the region, setting priorities and letting them adapt to their own markets and audiences.
  • Decide how the team splits its time between community and customer work, sorting incoming customer requests by deal size, stage, and strategic value and making prioritization calls when demand exceeds capacity.
  • Work with Marketing to plan where Temporal shows up in EMEA, including which conferences to speak at and which meetups to start or support.
  • Create and localize content for regional developers, such as talks, tutorials, blog posts, videos, sample apps, and livestreams.
  • Find people in local communities who care about the problems Temporal solves and help them lead, contribute to open source, and spread the word.
  • Track whether the program is working, including developer sign-ups, trials, and retention.
  • Own DevDays, the onsite customer engagement program, in EMEA from start to finish, working with the Global DevDays lead to tailor each event to customer use cases.
  • Identify engineers inside each account who could become champions, and ensure someone follows up with them.
  • Bring insights from developers and customers back to Docs, Education, and Product, especially around language, data residency, and regional market needs.

What you'll need

  • Experience in developer advocacy, solutions engineering, developer education, or technical community work, ideally in a developer-first company.
  • People leadership experience or a clear readiness to step into it.
  • Strong hands-on technical credibility: able to build, demo, and teach, and earn the respect of senior enterprise engineers.
  • An operational, execution-first mindset: able to run a repeatable program, manage intake and prioritization, and keep commitments against an SLA.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Sales, Solutions Architects, Developer Success, Product, and Marketing, and translating technical engagement into commercial impact.
  • Experience operating across a linguistically and culturally diverse region and coordinating a distributed team across multiple time zones.
  • A genuine passion for empowering developers and creating authentic, high-trust community experiences, not sales pitches.

Nice to have

  • Additional European languages.
  • Familiarity with durable execution, workflow orchestration, or distributed systems (e.g., Temporal).

Details

  • Location: United Kingdom (Remote).
  • Covers the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the Nordics.
