Overview
Manager, Engineering is a hands-on engineering leadership role for a connectivity product/feature team in Hyderabad.
What you'll do
- Lead and grow a team of 8–12 engineers in Hyderabad, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, 1:1s, and performance/career development.
- Establish engineering culture for design review, code quality, testing, and on-call discipline.
- Own end-to-end delivery for a feature area, including planning, prioritization, execution, quality, and production operational health.
- Translate product strategy into a technical roadmap and make trade-off decisions.
- Conduct design reviews and write/review code where it matters most; debug hard customer issues.
- Set architectural direction for Wi-Fi optimization, device provisioning/lifecycle, and the cloud controller across WAN/LAN.
- Represent the area in escalations and directly with ISP customers.
What you'll need
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years directly managing or formally leading engineering teams.
- Track record shipping production software in networking, connectivity, broadband CPE, or a closely adjacent domain.
- Deep hands-on strength in at least one of C/C++, Java, Go, or Python.
- Strong command of computer networking: L2/L3/L4, routing, switching, NAT, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, WAN and LAN, and IEEE 802.11.
- Working knowledge of standards-based device management including TR-369 (USP), TR-181, and TR-069.
- Experience with device provisioning, zero-touch onboarding, firmware/OTA updates, and device lifecycle at scale.
- Experience with cloud-based control planes and operating distributed systems in production.

- Represents Plume externally in forums such as Broadband Forum, RDK-B, prpl Foundation, and Wi-Fi Alliance.
