Overview

Lead Samsara’s Core Infrastructure team, combining technical and people leadership to build and operate compute, networking, storage, and cloud systems at scale.

What you'll do

• Lead, coach, and develop a globally distributed infrastructure team.
• Own technical strategy and roadmaps across infrastructure domains.
• Improve capacity management, observability, failure isolation, rollouts, and incident learning.
• Build automation, paved paths, and self-service infrastructure.
• Use AI-enabled tools to improve execution and reduce toil.
• Hire and lead an inclusive, high-performing team.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• 2+ years managing software or infrastructure engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical background in production infrastructure, cloud platforms, or distributed systems at scale.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and delivering measurable results.
• Strong communication and technical judgment.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-region public cloud, container orchestration, and declarative infrastructure.
• Experience leading modernization, reliability, disaster-recovery, or cloud-efficiency initiatives.
• Practical experience using AI-enabled tools to improve engineering effectiveness.

Details

• Remote position open to candidates residing in the United States.
• Full-time annual base salary: $154,700–$260,000 USD.
