Job description

Overview

Subject matter expert role providing technical support for planning, installation, implementation and testing of releases, upgrades and changes to CICS and related ISV products, with primary on-call support for these products.

What you'll do

  • Provide direct technical support as needed in the planning, coordination, installation, implementation and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to CICS and related ISV products.
  • Upgrade, install and migrate CICS Transaction Servers.
  • Upgrade, install and support IBM and ISV related products, for example Compuware Abend/aid, ASG TMON/CICS, Omegamon for CICS, BMC Mainview, Xpediter/CICS, CA ACF2/CICS, CA Intertest and CA Symdump.
  • Provide primary on-call support for CICS and associated ISV products, for example Compuware Abend/aid, ASG TMON/CICS, Omegamon for CICS, BMC Mainview, Compuware Xpediter/CICS, CA ACF2/CICS, CA Intertest and CA Symdump.
  • Diagnose CICS system and related product issues and follow up with root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and tests as scheduled.
  • Apply knowledge of CICS functionality and architecture.
  • Participate in on-call rotation with the engineering teams.

What you'll need

  • Engineer with 5 plus years' experience in systems programming.
  • Basic knowledge of z/OS, Unix System Services, SMP/E, REXX, Java, VSAM and third party products.
  • Experience in CICS transaction server and related ISV products.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Process driven management of technical operations and support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow a project through to completion, and/or to work as part of a larger team to complete the components of a complex project.

Nice to have

  • Banking or financial services industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Assembler, COBOL, CICS and Db2.
