Overview
Manager - Mechanical Engineering leads Life Cycle Management activities for on-market diagnostic products within the Instrument R&D organization at the Bengaluru Development Center.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a Mechanical Engineering LCM team with technical direction, coaching, and resource planning.
- Own sustaining engineering strategy and execution for electro-mechanical and medical device products.
- Drive design change management and product lifecycle activities (ECO/ECR, obsolescence mitigation, supplier-driven changes, cost reduction, value engineering, quality improvements).
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve production and field issues, drive CAPA, and deliver sustainable product solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for engineering investigations and product improvements, including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and design verification.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience.
- At least 3+ years of people leadership or technical leadership managing engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading global cross-functional teams and managing complex sustaining engineering or product lifecycle projects.
- Strong background in electro-mechanical product design, sustaining engineering, and change management.
Nice to have
- Experience in medical device product design and development.
- Experience with IVD instrumentation and specific system areas (Clinical Chemistry, Immunoassay, Hematology, Urinalysis).
