Manager, Platform Engineering

Overview

Lead the India Cloud and Platform SRE teams responsible for AWS platform engineering, infrastructure as code, reliability, and day-to-day operations. This player-coach role combines people leadership with technical oversight of platform delivery and incident response.

What you'll do

• Hire, manage, develop, and level engineers across the India Cloud and Platform SRE teams.
• Set sprint priorities, capacity allocation, operating cadence, and on-call rotations.
• Deliver AWS platform roadmaps covering landing zones, networking, identity, and customer environments.
• Enforce infrastructure code, CI/CD, progressive delivery, environment promotion, and secrets-management standards.
• Lead platform incident response in India hours and own postmortems and remediation.
• Drive security, compliance, FinOps, disaster recovery, patching, and capacity-management outcomes.
• Partner with architects, SRE, Information Security, vendors, and U.S. leadership.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading engineers as a people manager with hiring, performance, and development responsibility.
• Hands-on AWS platform experience in multi-account environments, including landing zones, account vending, IAM, and networking.
• Strong Terraform and infrastructure-as-code experience with shared modules, testing, and versioning.
• Experience leading production operations under SLOs, including on-call design, incident command, postmortems, and observability.
• Working knowledge of cloud security architecture and SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance-driven design.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI-assisted or agentic engineering systems with guardrails, autonomy tiers, and measured ROI.
• Strong software engineering skills in Python, Go, or similar.
• Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD tooling.
• Experience building and retaining distributed, multi-time-zone engineering teams.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional certification.

Details

• Location: Bangalore.
• Core working hours are India business hours, with scheduled overlap with U.S. leadership.
• Weekend paging is limited to P0 incidents and rotates across the team.
