Manifestor Trainee

Overview

Under supervision, this trainee role manifests all bulk, cased product and ingredients created or received at the plant, keeps records that balance with Americold every two hours, and learns palletizer, forklift and auto-labeler operations.

What you'll do

• Manifest all bulk, cased product and ingredients created or received in the plant.
• Track restricted and reworked product and keep accurate records that balance every two hours with Americold and hourly within the plant.
• Stay in contact with the lab and Team Leaders; monitor add-back and repack totes and call a forklift operator when totes sit out too long.
• Learn basic start, stop and running of the palletizer, including the shrink wrappers and vision system.
• Become qualified on the forklift.
• Oversee the auto labeler that creates and applies manifest tickets; record abnormalities in the log book.
• Manifest packaging materials, apply daycode designation stickers, and create manifest tickets on all product produced.
• Communicate and reconcile with Americold as directed; identify damaged or incorrectly palletized items.
• Ticket bulk totes and short B and waste; scan and reticket ingredients back into inventory.
• Check the manifest system for inventory accuracy, ensure FIFO, and monitor time product is left on the floor and the amount of rework on the floor.
• Use an infrared scanner on totes that are sitting out; build totes when required, ensuring liners and rubber bands are in place.
• Clean the area and maintain a 5S environment; follow all plant and job safety duties, PPE and LOTO rules, and take part in Daily Risk Assessments and Review and Response meetings.
• Work weekend cleanups as assigned; help train newer employees as directed; perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

What you'll need

• Ability to communicate effectively and understand verbal and written instructions.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Understanding of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a very cold environment for short periods.

• Pay rate: $21.60 per hour.
