Overview
Join the Bangalore Engineering team as a Mechanical Engineer contributing to the design, development, testing, sustaining engineering, and documentation of advanced MKS products. The role reports to the Bangalore Engineering Manager.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, document, build, and test vacuum, flow, plasma and pressure and related mechanical products.
- Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, bills of material, test plans, reports, and change orders.
- Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CAD tools such as SolidWorks and Creo.
- Apply effective Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) methodologies to ensure product functionality, manufacturability, and quality.
- Support product verification activities including prototype builds, testing, data analysis, root-cause investigations, and design improvements.
- Independently manage engineering assignments while collaborating effectively with global cross-functional teams.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
- Experience working with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and engineering drawing creation, preferably using SolidWorks and/or Creo.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, and GD&T.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Experience developing, building, and testing mechanical prototypes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with vacuum systems, vacuum technology, semiconductor equipment, or other high-technology capital equipment.
- Knowledge of thermal and mechanical analysis, simulation, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Details
- Location: Bangalore, Whitefield, India.
- Work is performed in office and engineering laboratory environments.
- Sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
- Use laboratory equipment and occasionally lift and move electronic equipment or test fixtures up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly use electronic test equipment and prototype hardware for product development, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
