Overview
Design and engineering for pump upgrades, parts orders and aftermarket units (AMU) for FPD S&S accounts. Perform varied and complex engineering work with minimum supervision while meeting customer expectations and delivering quality results on time.
What you'll do
- Gather relevant information, review inputs, understand the scope of work and complete assigned tasks.
- Provide timely status updates to all stakeholders.
- Follow established engineering standards and procedures for product design.
- Check designs for compliance with job specifications, form, fit and function, safety in assembly, maintenance and operation, and ease of manufacture and assembly.
- Perform self-checking.
- Deliver clear and complete drawings, analysis reports, documentation and parts lists according to assignment deliverables.
- Understand the basic functions of documentation control, document preservation and computer filing.
- Maintain and develop technical and interpersonal skills in compliance with company policies.
- Use resources productively and innovatively.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience in the pumps or rotating equipment industry, or 5+ years’ experience in engineering design.
- Excellent ability to read and understand engineering drawings, documents and reports.
- Conversant with GD&T and drafting standard ANSI Y 14.5.
- Proficient in 3D design in SolidWorks for pump upgrades, parts and AMU.
- Knowledge of design of pumps or related equipment.
- Knowledge of ASME, API and DIN design standards and material specifications.
- Team player who is highly self-motivated.
- High quality on deliverables.
- Highly committed and a quick learner.
- Timely responsiveness to internal and external customers.
- Ability to listen attentively and understand job information clearly.
- Ability to evaluate work, set priorities and quickly focus on the most critical needs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Experienced user of Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience in pump assembly, repair and servicing.
