Engineer – Accessories Mechanical

Overview

Engineer supporting the design and execution of gas turbine, steam turbine and generator accessory systems for combined-cycle power plant projects. The role coordinates with lead engineers, other disciplines, customers and suppliers throughout project execution.

What you'll do

• Prepare design concepts and basic system and equipment engineering for accessory systems.
• Develop system and hardware designs, schematics, device summaries, specifications and drawings.
• Perform calculations and analyses to size system components.
• Evaluate supplier bids, negotiate technical requirements and initiate purchase orders.
• Review supplier documents and integrate equipment with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation interfaces.
• Conduct 3D model reviews and witness supplier function and performance tests.
• Support design reviews, project schedules, customer responses and corrective-action closure.

What you'll need

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Design knowledge of gas turbine, steam turbine or generator accessories.
• Knowledge of design methods, rules and tools for specifying systems and components.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ANSI, ASME, NFPA, IEC and VDE.
• Knowledge of controls-system and electrical interfaces.
• Familiarity with engineering, design and project-management tools such as GTCC-PLM, AVEVA, Power-Now and Confluence.
