Mechanical Engineer I

Overview

Mechanical Engineer I is an individual contributor role using mechanical engineering principles to design, develop, test, and sustain product/service solutions for customer applications.

What you'll do

• Assist in designing components, products, tests, and systems using engineering principles.
• Document design calculations, tolerance analysis, and concept development.
• Create and update 3D CAD models and engineering drawings/details design activities.
• Help produce build and operating/maintenance product documents.
• Support engineering change requests to improve documentation and design.
• Assist with test programs, including planning, running tests, and compiling results reports.
• Estimate durations for application development and support prototype assemblies and validation processes.

What you'll need

• Mechanical engineering specific work experience.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, GD&T, FEA, and DFMEA (classroom acceptable).
• Understanding of FEA software (simulation and ANSYS preferred).
• Solid modeling software familiarity (e.g., Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
• Problem solving skills and understanding of manufacturing processes and machine design principles.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering change processes (e.g., TeamCenter, MasterControl).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Competency with MS Office.
