Medical Writer, Medical Communications

Overview

Support the development of scientifically accurate, evidence-based medical communications content across formats including slide decks, manuscripts, and training materials. The role provides structured guidance for those new to medical writing, with increasing independence based on experience.

What you'll do

• Draft and revise scientific content and visual representations.
• Interpret clinical and preclinical data for clear written materials.
• Conduct literature searches and organize references.
• Participate in internal and client meetings and capture action items.
• Incorporate reviewer feedback and communicate with stakeholders.
• Track project tasks, timelines, files, and time using project tools.
• Prepare materials for regulatory and editorial review.

What you'll need

• Doctoral-level degree in life sciences, such as PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent.
• Strong interest in medical writing and scientific communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to balance multiple projects.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Teams, OneNote, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn AMA style and reference tools.
• Prior medical writing experience is beneficial but not required.

• Remote role in the United States.
• Salary range: $80,000–$110,000 USD annually.
• Target billable utilization: 85%.
