Overview

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for developing, managing and maintaining enterprise infrastructure and applications. The role works across teams and supports project managers and business towers as a consultant and subject matter expert for the end-point compute environment.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor other DevOps Engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Work with data analysts, product owners and data scientists to understand requirements, find bottlenecks and identify resolutions.
• Build batch and real-time analytical solutions leveraging transformational technologies.
• Provide technical engineering across various technologies.
• Design and implement solutions to improve existing support processes and tools.
• Support development and management infrastructure and integrate systems to work as one.
• Write automation code and build tools for provisioning and operating development infrastructure on multi-OS virtualized environments.
• Improve scalability, service reliability, capacity and performance of Cloud and Hadoop infrastructure.
• Prepare root cause analysis for network and server outages.
• Introduce innovations and track and follow up on the planning and execution of quality initiatives.
• Document and follow defined RMA processes and procedures for relevant vendors.
• Triage incoming requests through ticketing systems and apply first-attempt troubleshooting steps, escalating trouble tickets when required.
• Record, track and document task requests and the problem-solving process through final resolution, including successful and unsuccessful decisions and actions taken.
• Perform other duties as required.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 8+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expert-level knowledge managing Azure Cloud as a primary requirement, with GCP as a secondary requirement.
• Expert-level experience with automation on Azure cloud services and AD, using IaC, PowerShell and Python.
• Experience using DevOps services for CI/CD, microservices, deployments and GitHub.
• Architect- or design-level experience.
• Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Ability to network with key contacts outside your area of expertise.
• Strong background in coding, administration and scripting languages.
• Demonstrated experience with big data infrastructure.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment and with stakeholders.
• Experience building various programs.
• Familiarity with tools for monitoring and system alerting.
• Ability to manage multiple products and release cadences with source-control branching strategies.
• Software development experience.
• Experience with open-source tools and technologies in large distributed systems.
• Experience building and developing scalable, resilient, always-on data lakes.
• Ability to grasp new technologies quickly and multitask across multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent information and data analysis skills.
