Network Engineer Security I

Overview

Network Engineer Security I to engineer and support network security products across on-prem, multiple data centers, and cloud environments.

What you'll do

• Implement and provide Tier 2 support for Palo Alto and Cisco FTD firewall environments.
• Provide Tier 2 support for VPN and Cisco ISE/NAC remote access environments.
• Implement firewall solutions in AWS using an auto-scaling design.
• Troubleshoot complex network security issues, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvements.
• Harden security of platform devices to reduce vulnerability footprint.
• Manage and optimize logging of firewall traffic and rule-based activity.
• Develop automation using scripting (Python or PERL) and leverage APIs for data exchange.

What you'll need

• 3+ years administering an enterprise-level Palo Alto and/or Fortinet environment.
• 5+ years networking experience and knowledge of network devices (routers, switches, etc.).
• Ability to generate and read packet captures for troubleshooting.
• Fundamental knowledge of encryption, including HTTPS decryption and re-encryption.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and provide solutions.
• Accurate diagramming and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• Palo Alto Professional Security Certifications (e.g., PCNSE) desirable.
• Security and network certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CCNP, CCNA, CCIE) desirable.
• Enterprise routing protocol configuration knowledge (e.g., OSPF and BGP).
• Familiarity with industry standard automation tools.
