Overview
Network Security Engineer responsible for level 2/3 support and advanced configuration of network security platforms, including segmentation, firewalls, VPN/SASE, detection/response, and compliance controls.
What you'll do
- Provide level 2/3 engineering support for network security solutions including micro segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, WAF, NDR, and network access control.
- Manage advanced Palo Alto firewall security configurations locally and globally with Prisma Access SASE.
- Configure and manage deployed network security platforms such as firewalls and IDS/IPS, ensuring they are up to date and aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with other technology teams to securely integrate cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and implement security controls like access controls, encryption, and segmentation.
- Develop and maintain network segmentation policies, including implementing zero-trust and micro segmentation practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, perform penetration testing, and recommend remediation including vulnerability management.
What you'll need
- 5-7 years of network security experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience with networking and firewalling using Palo Alto Networks, including User-ID, App-ID, and IDS/IPS.
- Knowledge of network segmentation and zero trust architecture using tools such as Illumio, Guardicore, VMware NSX (NSX-T), Cisco ACI, and/or Zero Networks.
- Experience with SASE/CASB architectures using Prisma Access and/or zScaler and/or NetSkope.
- Knowledge of cloud networking with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, plus NDR platform experience (Darktrace, ExtraHop, and/or Vectra).
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCNA/CCNP, Palo Alto PCSNE, Security+, and/or CCNA Security.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
