Overview
Lead electrical new product introduction activities from concept through production launch, supporting manufacturing readiness and factory ramp-up across internal sites and contract manufacturers.
What you'll do
- Lead electrical NPI activities through prototype, pilot, validation, qualification, and production builds.
- Review schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, BOMs, and component specifications for manufacturing readiness.
- Drive electrical DFX activities covering manufacturability, assembly, automation, cost, and serviceability.
- Conduct virtual build reviews using 3D models and electrical drawings to identify manufacturing risks.
- Develop assembly instructions, tooling requirements, torque specifications, inspection checkpoints, and workmanship criteria.
- Track NPI risks, issues, actions, dependencies, and readiness milestones.
- Support supplier and contract manufacturer readiness reviews and international factory launches.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, NPI, manufacturing engineering, advanced manufacturing engineering, or a related function.
- Experience with prototype builds, pilot production, manufacturing readiness, production launches, and contract manufacturer support.
- Knowledge of HV/LV systems, harnesses, busbars, grounding, insulation, connectors, terminations, and protection devices.
- Knowledge of DFX/DFM/DFA, PFMEA, root-cause analysis, engineering change management, BOM control, and configuration management.
- Experience reviewing electrical CAD drawings and 3D assemblies using EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo, or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel internationally to suppliers, contract manufacturers, and manufacturing sites.
Nice to have
- Master's degree.
- Experience with BESS, battery packs or modules, power electronics, inverters/PCS, EV powertrains, or industrial electrical systems.
- Experience developing electrical DFX standards, manufacturing guidelines, lessons-learned databases, or DFX rulebooks.
