Overview

Senior Data Engineer position in Oliver Wyman’s Data and Analytics (DNA) practice (Gurugram, India), focused on building and operating large-scale data/ETL pipelines and cloud-native data applications.

What you'll do

• Develop and monitor high-performance data engineering applications that deploy ML frameworks at scale.
• Design, build, and maintain data/software pipelines and ETL processes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and refine data architecture to guide stakeholders through model-building journeys.
• Apply best practices in data engineering, code hygiene, and code reviews.
• Create and maintain documentation and runbooks for operational excellence.
• Work with teams and clients to understand business challenges and support project delivery.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a computational or quantitative discipline.
• Strong mentoring skills for guiding junior engineers (for Senior/Lead levels).
• Experience designing and deploying cloud-native data applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of test-driven development (TDD) and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Strong SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Programming skills with Python mandatory (R and SAS desired).

Details

• Location: Gurugram, India.
• Local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week.
• Travel to clients’ locations across the globe when required.
