Overview
The Payments Processing Analyst, NCT is responsible for accurate and timely processing of all types of payments, including physical cash and valuables, and handling cash-related investigations. The role processes time-critical and potentially complex transactions, supports stakeholders, follows established procedures and service level agreements, and identifies opportunities for process improvement.
What you'll do
- Process payment items according to procedures and cut-off times.
- Process physical cash and valuables transactions accurately and completely.
- Process time-critical, complex and, where applicable, regulated transactions for internal and external clients.
- Assist the team with day-to-day operations.
- Liaise with the sending location for clarifications.
- Communicate process-related clarifications from the sending location to the team.
- Collate process-issue data and communicate it to the Manager.
- Carry out end-of-day functions according to checklists and maintain relevant records.
- Check self-assessment reports and backup papers, obtain the responsible person’s signature and ensure the Team Manager countersigns the report.
- Maintain records of relevant procedural changes.
- Collate data on changes to the KOP and communicate it to the Manager.
- Train new recruits according to the Training Module.
- Create proper backups within the department.
- Escalate issues to supervisors and managers according to the escalation procedure.
- Advise the Team Manager of exceptional occurrences.
- Follow all procedures laid down for the process.
- Ensure compliance with internal regulations.
- Escalate process-related ambiguities to supervisors or the manager for clarification.
- Communicate potential business opportunities identified during regular transactions and assist management with business development efforts.
- Achieve job objectives within agreed timelines.
- Contribute ideas to achieve excellence in service quality and support innovation.
- Carry out monthly departmental self-assessments using the checklists.
- Document control lapses and suggested actions in self-assessment evidence.
- Ensure KOP amendments and updates are made within defined timelines.
- Carry out tests or quizzes to assess trainees.
- Maintain relevant training records.
- Assist the manager in preparing team-related MIS.
- Handle cash-related investigations and enquiries from clients and internal stakeholders before and after payment execution.
- Maintain appropriate relationships with the front office and other internal and external parties.
- Handle escalation and remediation of client complaints when required.
What you'll need
- Minimum graduation in any stream.
- Clear understanding of payments flow.
- Well versed with SWIFT.
- Knowledge of risk and regulatory payments.
- Knowledge of SWIFT back-office operation.
- Knowledge of operational risk.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows to solve business problems.
- Ability to apply critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
