Performance Engineer

Overview

Senior AWS Integration Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale AWS integration platforms, cloud-native architectures, and metadata-driven integration frameworks.

What you'll do

• Design and architect enterprise-scale AWS Glue-based data integration solutions for cloud-native applications and Data Mesh platforms.
• Lead the design and implementation of serverless integration architectures using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, and AWS Glue.
• Develop and optimize AWS Glue ETL jobs using Python and PySpark for large-scale data processing and transformation.
• Design metadata-driven and configuration-over-code integration frameworks using JSON schemas and reusable architecture patterns.
• Build scalable, event-driven integration pipelines supporting JDBC, REST APIs, SFTP, and messaging-based integrations.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using AWS CDK (TypeScript) and CloudFormation.
• Lead multi-tenant architecture decisions and cross-account deployment strategies across AWS environments.
• Develop backend services using TypeScript and Python for serverless applications.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins, GitHub, and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to gather requirements, conduct architecture reviews, and deliver solution demonstrations.
• Ensure security, governance, monitoring, and operational excellence across AWS integration platforms.
• Optimize AWS solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentor development teams and establish best practices for cloud-native integration and automation.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to improve engineering productivity and accelerate SDLC processes.
• Work closely with Agile teams to deliver high-quality cloud solutions following DevOps and continuous integration practices.

What you'll need

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• 10-12+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS cloud integration solutions.
• Strong expertise in AWS Glue for ETL development, data transformation, workflow orchestration, and enterprise data integration.
• Extensive experience with AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, Amazon EventBridge, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Athena, Amazon SQS, and AWS CodeBuild.
• Experience with AWS CDK (TypeScript) and AWS CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated cloud provisioning.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, SQL, and TypeScript.
• Experience developing serverless applications and backend services using AWS Lambda and TypeScript.
• Expertise in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting AWS Glue ETL jobs using Python and PySpark.
• Strong knowledge of Data Mesh architecture, metadata-driven integration, and configuration-over-code platform design.
• Experience designing event-driven architectures using EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, and SQS.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns including REST APIs, JDBC, SFTP, and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience designing multi-tenant integration platforms and cross-account AWS deployment strategies.
• Proficiency in JSON schema design, metadata management, and reusable integration frameworks.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins, GitHub, and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), cloud automation, and deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and Claude Code for AI-assisted software development and Agentic SDLC workflows.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience with performance optimization, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cost optimization of AWS cloud solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Proven ability to mentor engineering teams and establish cloud integration architecture best practices.
• Good understanding of AWS security services including Amazon Cognito, AWS WAF, AWS Certificate Manager, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon SageMaker.
• Education: 15 years full-time education.
