Overview
Performance Test Architect to define and drive performance engineering strategy for enterprise-scale, distributed, cloud-native applications.
What you'll do
- Define performance engineering strategies, standards, and non-functional requirements (NFRs), KPIs, and SLAs/SLOs.
- Design and execute a range of performance tests (baseline, load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, capacity, volume, failover, resilience).
- Develop workload models and set production-readiness and performance quality criteria for releases.
- Analyze performance signals (response time, throughput, latency, concurrency, error rates, CPU/memory/network utilization) and identify bottlenecks/root causes.
- Validate scalability, capacity, autoscaling behavior, and resilience during peak workloads and failure scenarios.
- Build performance testing frameworks and integrate automated performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Define observability requirements and produce performance reports; mentor engineers on performance engineering practices.
What you'll need
- 12+ years of Quality/Performance Engineering experience with significant hands-on performance engineering expertise.
- Experience as a Performance Architect, Principal Performance Engineer, Performance Lead, or equivalent senior role.
- Strong experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, Locust, LoadRunner, or NeoLoad.
- Strong knowledge of workload modeling, scalability, capacity planning, resilience, and performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, caching, messaging, and asynchronous processing.
- Strong SQL and database performance troubleshooting skills; SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Linux, networking, containers, Kubernetes, and AWS and/or Azure.
