Overview
Piping Designer role supporting Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) with plant piping design and 3D modeling for process and pharmaceutical projects.
What you'll do
- Develop detailed piping designs, layouts, and models using Cadworx based on specifications, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
- Create 3D models of piping systems, equipment, and structures within plant layouts to optimize space and efficiency.
- Produce isometric drawings, orthographic views, and material take-offs for construction and installation support.
- Ensure piping design compliance with industry standards and project-specific requirements (materials, sizing, routing).
- Perform clash detection and resolve interferences among piping, equipment, and structural elements.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor data to incorporate accurate piping details.
- Coordinate with designers and engineers to integrate piping designs with overall plant layout and systems.
What you'll need
- Diploma in a relevant technical/engineering discipline with a certified course in Autodesk Plant 3D/CADWorx or similar software.
- Minimum 3+ years in plant piping design using Autodesk Plant 3D and/or CADWorx / Revit Plant Piping Designer.
- At least 3+ years of experience leading a team.
- Proficiency in Plant 3D and/or CADWorx / Revit for piping design, including 3D modeling, isometric generation, orthographic views, and material management.
- Proficiency in collaboration/coordination tools including Autodesk Navisworks and Re-Cap.
- Knowledge of piping design principles, materials, fittings, valves, and standards such as ASME B31.3, ASME, ANSI, and API.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications with effective communication for multidisciplinary teams.
