Overview
PMS Specialist - Process Power Manager in ABB’s Energy Industries Process Automation business in Bangalore, acting as a design authority for Power Management Systems.
What you'll do
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques for assignments.
- Handle testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare project documentation within scope of deliverables.
- Create work plans and cost estimates for responsibilities.
- Complete PMS-related risk and opportunity assessments and implement actions.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain on technical requirements and supplier evaluation.
What you'll need
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant engineering and commissioning experience in Power Management Systems.
- Hands-on experience with designing substation network architecture of control systems and control philosophy.
- Working knowledge of utility communication protocols including IEC 61850, OPC, Modbus, DNP3, IEC 101/104, TCP/IP, Profinet, Fieldbus, and SPA.
- Hands-on experience with application engineering tools for a DCS.
- Hands-on experience configuring controllers, protocol gateways, and data concentrators on communication protocols.
- Experience working with manufacturer IEDs on IEC 61850 and creating IEC, ICD, CID, and SCD files.
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or equivalent experience and willingness to travel up to 70% nationally and internationally.
