Overview

Design and deliver primary engineering for HV/EHV substations, including AIS/GIS systems, for international power infrastructure projects.

What you'll do

Develop primary designs for HV/EHV substations and associated equipment.
Prepare and review SLDs, GA drawings, layouts, sections and elevations.
Prepare equipment specifications and data sheets for primary equipment.
Perform busbar, equipment sizing, electrical clearance and related calculations.
Coordinate with Protection & Control, Civil/Structural, Secondary and SCADA disciplines.
Review vendor drawings and technical submissions for compliance.
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and site-query resolution.

What you'll need

8–15 years of relevant substation primary engineering or design experience.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong experience with HV/EHV substation primary engineering and design.
Experience with AIS and/or GIS substations.
Knowledge of primary equipment, electrical clearances, earthing and lightning protection.
Knowledge of relevant IEC, IEEE and BS standards.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Nice to have

Experience with 132kV, 220kV, 400kV or higher voltage substations.
Experience on international projects, particularly Middle East or KSA projects.
Experience with Saudi Arabia or GCC utility projects.
Experience with engineering consultants, EPC organisations, utilities or power-sector organisations.
Knowledge of relevant electrical engineering or design software.
