Principal Architect

Overview

Principal Architect role advising senior leadership on enterprise architecture and long-term, large-scale technology solutions.

What you'll do

• Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop architectural frameworks and delivery for complex business and technical needs.
• Lead strategy and resolution of highly complex, unique challenges across multiple areas or the enterprise.
• Provide vision, direction, and expertise for implementing transformation strategy using current state, target state, and transition architecture.
• Develop and influence strategic plans, investment planning, and cutover execution strategies.
• Engage across the enterprise as an architectural domain expert advisor to leadership.
• Ensure applications adhere to established standards, policies, methodologies, and industry best practices during target-state transformation.
• Define and establish strategic architecture tools and frameworks, and recommend innovations to enhance operations or competitive advantage.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of architecture experience (or equivalent via work experience, training, military experience, or education).
• Experience leading conceptual design and technical solution architecture for major projects.
• Ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills for client-facing and executive presentations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to guide cross-functional matrixed teams.
• Expert knowledge of industry standard tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise frameworks (examples given).
• Advanced problem-solving and decision-making under tight constraints.
