Overview
Principal Data Engineer to develop and maintain large-scale data platforms, including enterprise data warehouse and related components. The role focuses on cloud data pipelines, governance/security, technical leadership, and delivery with global teams.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain large-scale data platforms and enriching data pipelines to share enterprise data.
- Design, build, and maintain an enterprise data platform such as an Enterprise Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store, or Data Marts with data access, security, privacy, and governance.
- Drive automation and optimize processes and data flows to recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Solution Architects, and Data Modelers to enhance data platform design.
- Manage tech debt backlog aligned with identified upgrades and implement technical solutions.
- Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to ensure effective change control for infrastructure/application changes.
- Coordinate release management activities and lead design reviews while managing developer deliverables.
What you'll need
- 15+ years of experience designing and building data warehouse and data lakes.
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake for enterprise-level implementation and migration from legacy/on-prem systems.
- AWS expertise including S3, Lamda, Glue, Step Function, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with large-scale data warehousing applications and databases including Oracle, Netezza, Teradata, and SQL Server.
- Expertise in ELT/ETL processes and complex data pipeline architecture, including data modeling techniques for high-volume design.
- Technical expertise in ELT/ETL tools such as DBT, Qlik Replicate, and Snowpark.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration using Airflow, plus Unix and Python scripting.
