Overview
Principal Database Engineer who leads the architecture, automation, performance, and operational excellence of enterprise database platforms for cloud-first healthcare applications.
What you'll do
- Define, architect, evolve, and govern highly available, resilient, and secure enterprise database platforms across cloud environments.
- Lead reliability, performance, scalability, and lifecycle management of Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
- Drive migrations and modernization toward PostgreSQL and cloud-native database services.
- Design automated frameworks for database provisioning, patching, backup validation, failover testing, and routine maintenance using IaC and configuration management.
- Build database release automation and CI/CD pipelines, including schema versioning and environment standardization.
- Establish database observability using telemetry, logging, alerting, and performance analytics.
- Lead RCA and corrective actions after major database production incidents.
What you'll need
- 10+ years designing, supporting, and managing enterprise relational database platforms in production.
- Extensive experience operating in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices.
- Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and SRE initiatives.
- Microsoft SQL Server certification or equivalent experience.
- Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server administration, HADR strategies, and performance engineering.
- Advanced scripting/programming using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent languages.
