Principal Engineer – Structural Engineering

Overview

Principal Engineer in Structural Engineering supporting and leading development and delivery of structural engineering work for compressor hardware.

What you'll do

• Support the manager in developing capable, proficient structural engineers in CSE.
• Ensure successful project execution using Engineering Standard Work (ESW).
• Perform ANSYS Finite Element Analysis for stress, vibration, and fatigue/residual life prediction.
• Write substantiation documentation and deliver technical presentations to internal/external customers.
• Drive execution efficiency with high technical quality by managing milestones, tasks, and resources.
• Coach, mentor, and provide classroom and on-the-job training for structural methods and tools.

What you'll need

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 13+ years prior relevant engineering experience, OR an Advanced Degree with 11+ years prior relevant engineering experience.
• Structural analysis experience on compressor hardware, especially rotors, casings, and kinematics.
• Strong structural engineering skills in tools and methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated effectiveness working across functions, organizations, and management levels.
• Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and related components.
