Overview
Principal Engineer (Warehouse Engineering) defining the technical vision and architecture for Quince’s warehouse technology ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Architect and build a standardized warehouse integration platform connecting to third-party operators and WMS platforms.
- Define and build the technical strategy for Quince’s proprietary WMS, supporting inbound, outbound, inventory, fulfillment, and warehouse execution workflows.
- Drive the architecture and evolution of an end-to-end returns and reverse logistics platform.
- Lead adoption of AI-native engineering practices across warehouse operations, workflow automation, and decision-making.
- Set long-term technical vision, architecture principles, and roadmap for warehouse engineering.
- Mentor senior engineers and influence technical strategy across multiple teams and domains.
What you'll need
- 12+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale operational/supply chain/logistics/warehouse systems.
- Proven experience architecting and scaling distributed and event-driven architectures in production.
- Expertise designing highly reliable systems where data integrity, consistency, and operational correctness are critical.
- Experience designing integration platforms and replacing bespoke integrations with standardized, scalable frameworks.
- Strong understanding of multi-tenant architecture, API design, configuration management, and platform extensibility.
- Ability to mentor senior engineers and drive engineering excellence across teams.
Nice to have
- Direct experience designing or building WMS at scale.
- Experience with reverse logistics and refurbishment/disposition workflows.
- Experience partnering with Data Science or Operations Research to productionize optimization/decision-making models.
