Principal Engineer (Warehouse Engineering)

Overview

Principal Engineer (Warehouse Engineering) defining the technical vision and architecture for Quince’s warehouse technology ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Architect and build a standardized warehouse integration platform connecting to third-party operators and WMS platforms.
• Define and build the technical strategy for Quince’s proprietary WMS, supporting inbound, outbound, inventory, fulfillment, and warehouse execution workflows.
• Drive the architecture and evolution of an end-to-end returns and reverse logistics platform.
• Lead adoption of AI-native engineering practices across warehouse operations, workflow automation, and decision-making.
• Set long-term technical vision, architecture principles, and roadmap for warehouse engineering.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence technical strategy across multiple teams and domains.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale operational/supply chain/logistics/warehouse systems.
• Proven experience architecting and scaling distributed and event-driven architectures in production.
• Expertise designing highly reliable systems where data integrity, consistency, and operational correctness are critical.
• Experience designing integration platforms and replacing bespoke integrations with standardized, scalable frameworks.
• Strong understanding of multi-tenant architecture, API design, configuration management, and platform extensibility.
• Ability to mentor senior engineers and drive engineering excellence across teams.

Nice to have

• Direct experience designing or building WMS at scale.
• Experience with reverse logistics and refurbishment/disposition workflows.
• Experience partnering with Data Science or Operations Research to productionize optimization/decision-making models.
