Principal Platform Engineer- GCP and Kubernetes is a must

Overview

Lead the evolution and performance of SonicWall's Kubernetes-based production environment. Drive reliability, scalability, and observability across mission-critical systems while working hands-on with Kubernetes, GCP, Terraform, and modern infrastructure automation.

What you'll do

• Maintain, scale, and enhance the Kubernetes production platform.
• Improve the performance, reliability, and availability of production systems.
• Ensure comprehensive observability across services, infrastructure, and applications, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerts.
• Diagnose and tune database and service performance across distributed systems.
• Partner with Development teams to assess the platform impact of new features and architectural changes.
• Identify architecture bottlenecks and contribute to scalable, resilient technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Support teams to build and maintain operational runbooks and improve incident response processes.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production environments.
• Strong expertise with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• GCP cloud experience.
• Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Strong understanding of container lifecycle management and deployments.
• Programming experience in Go, Python, or a comparable language.
• Experience with database performance optimization and tuning.
• Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and network-level troubleshooting.
• At least 10+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years and a Master's degree, or a PhD with 5 years experience, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Multi-cloud exposure.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
