Principal Product Manager

Overview

Principal Product Manager in Samsara's Telematics Business Unit, owning cross-cutting commercial initiatives and incubating new product bets adjacent to the core vehicle gateway products.

What you'll do

• Own cross-cutting initiatives that drive step-function business and commercial impact for the entire Telematics business unit, working directly with the head of Telematics and with GTM and field leaders.
• Identify, scope, and incubate new product bets adjacent to the core telematics and vehicle gateway products, forming hypotheses and building business cases.
• Once validated, pair with a small engineering pod to prototype and get new products in front of real customers.
• Operate as a deep individual contributor on highly ambiguous, complex problems.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles as the company scales globally and across new offices.

What you'll need

• Product management experience in B2B (ideally enterprise B2B), with direct, hands-on familiarity working with field, go-to-market, and sales teams, and finding product-market fit for a B2B SaaS product.
• A track record of taking a product from 0 to 1 (or 1 to 10) in a B2B environment, having built from a blank sheet of paper rather than only optimizing an existing roadmap.
• Strong commercial and business judgment, comfortable sizing a market opportunity and building a business case from first principles.
• Comfortable using AI tools to prototype and build quickly.
• No deep telematics domain expertise required.

Nice to have

• Former founder or other high-ownership, self-starter experience.
• Experience in a business with some physical-world tangibility.

Details

• Remote position open to candidates residing in the US, based in the Eastern Time Zone.
• Reports directly to the leader of the Telematics Business Unit.
• Annual base salary range of $137,200 to $245,000 USD, varying by approved pay zone, city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
• Eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms and conditions.
