Principal Product Manager

Overview

As a Principal Product Manager, set product direction, build products, and own success across Cognite’s industrial customers. The role focuses on Cognite Data Fusion, SaaS products, AI capabilities, user experience, and complex industrial data challenges.

What you'll do

• Define product strategy and roadmap for the future of Cognite Data Fusion, focused on improved usability, accelerated time to value, and integration of new AI technologies.
• Drive the development and launch of innovative SaaS products that solve complex data and business problems at scale.
• Shape how GenAI and Agentic AI capabilities are embedded into products and workflows to create differentiated user experiences and measurable customer value.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
• Work closely with skilled users to understand their needs and build products that help them succeed.
• Partner with GTM and customer teams to enable them on offerings and ensure successful product launches.
• Manage feature delivery, product strategy, prioritization, and tradeoffs for a complex product area.
• Communicate with customer senior executives, technical engineers, and data scientists.
• Articulate clear and well-structured product requirement documentation that sets direction for engineering and design.
• Mentor junior colleagues and lead complex product development projects across global teams.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of product management experience.
• A strong track record of building and launching successful SaaS products.
• Strong experience across SaaS and AI/ML products.
• Experience building and launching products where GenAI and/or Agentic AI is a core building block, rather than simply an add-on capability.
• Deep interest in the potential of Agentic AI and emerging AI technologies, including actively exploring and using them in daily workflows.
• An understanding of how agentic technologies can transform workflows, create new product experiences, and deliver meaningful customer value.
• A track record of successful product launches involving AI/ML technologies.
• Experience building products within big data or data-intensive environments, with an understanding of how large-scale data is collected, processed, stored, analyzed, and utilized.
• Experience communicating with different types of stakeholders, ranging from customer senior executives to technical engineers and data scientists.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues and leading complex product development projects across global teams.
• Experience working in an English-speaking environment.
• A user-centric mindset and a genuine passion for understanding user needs and designing intuitive, easy-to-use solutions for complex technical problems.
• Strong leadership potential, with the ambition and capability to grow into a leadership role over time, potentially building and leading a team of Product Managers in India.

Nice to have

• Experience in areas involving big data, data platforms, analytics, or other technically complex products.
• Experience building and launching products involving GenAI or Agentic AI technologies.
• Experience in industrial OT/IT or industrial software.
• Experience in industrial OT/IT, energy, manufacturing, oil & gas, or other asset-intensive industries.
