Overview
Own and maximise the value of GSK's Biometric Solutions product by translating business needs into a prioritised backlog and leading delivery across the product lifecycle, within guardrails set by the Product Manager and Product Domain Lead.
What you'll do
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand functional needs, refine requirements and define product outcomes within guardrails set by the Product Manager and Product Domain Lead.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring epics, features and user stories are well defined and supported by relevant data on value, users, cost, risk, dependencies and process impact.
- Make backlog prioritisation decisions based on value, cost, risk, business continuity and resource capacity, escalating strategic trade-offs in line with the agreed RACI.
- Lead product delivery activities, guiding Product Analysts and working with Engineers, Architects and Testers to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, secure, compliant, supportable and aligned to standards.
- Lead refinement, demonstrations, acceptance and release decisions and maintain clear traceability from business outcome through requirement, test and delivered change.
- Drive operational readiness using a structured checklist covering support model, training, continuity, configuration, runbooks, release notes, validation evidence and user onboarding.
- Define and maintain the product performance dashboard, tracking adoption, process outcomes, cycle time, stability, defects, user experience and support effort.
- Ensure product changes follow required security, data, quality, validation, change and regulatory controls and obtain specialist approvals where required.
- Build working knowledge of the biometric platforms in scope and flag opportunities (for example adoption gaps, authentication use cases) to the Product Manager with guidance.
- Support Architects in assessing design options and manage cross-product dependencies, interface impacts and release sequencing.
- Act as an escalation point for the product team and business users on functional product issues and guide resolution within agreed guardrails.
- Coordinate supplier delivery and hold external partners accountable for quality, documentation, knowledge transfer and product outcomes.
- Promote agile, iterative, value-driven and data-led delivery and use feedback and performance insights to continuously improve the product.
- Collaborate effectively with AI / ML engineers, data scientists, architects and security teams to turn biometric requirements into robust models, APIs, and services.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Typically 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, business analysis, digital solutions, technology delivery or process-led technology roles.
- Product lifecycle management, requirements gathering, backlog and acceptance management, agile/iterative delivery, user-centred design, adoption, and continuous improvement.
- Enterprise technology, data, integration, security and service principles, with experience in biometric solutions (Nymi Bands, Windows Hello, etc.) and understanding of regulated manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and laboratory environments.
- Proven experience defining and prioritising epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria and managing a product backlog.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate needs into feasible, value-led technology changes.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise based on value, process impact, risk, cost, capacity and technology dependencies.
- Experience guiding Product Analysts, Engineers, Architects and Testers through refinement, design, testing, release and adoption.
- Experience applying security, data protection, quality, validation, change and service-readiness controls.
- Experience defining product performance measures and using user, process, stability and service insights to improve outcomes.
- Experience working in agile or iterative delivery environments and coordinating suppliers or external delivery partners.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools in day-to-day product work (e.g. copilot tools, AI assistants, analytics platforms, experimentation tooling) to accelerate discovery, backlog refinement, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience leading cross-functional squads (product, engineering, data/ML, security, compliance) to deliver AI-driven features from discovery through scale-up.
Nice to have
- AI, agile delivery, business analysis, change, process improvement or service management certifications.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain product decisions and technology constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation skills for discovery, backlog refinement, prioritisation, demonstrations and acceptance discussions.
- Analytical judgement to balance value, risk, cost, complexity, urgency and operational impact.
- Ability to interpret process information, user feedback and product data to identify improvements.
- Working understanding of architecture, integration, data, security, validation, service and operational readiness.
- Strong organisation, traceability and documentation discipline.
- Collaborative approach and ability to work across global, cross-functional and supplier teams.
- Commitment to user-centred, capability-led and technology-agnostic solutions.
