Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer on UiPath’s Vertical Solutions team, building an AI agentic orchestration platform and the core orchestration engine.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack Vertical Solutions products leveraging AI coding assistants.
• Write production-quality code daily using AI tools to enhance your development workflow.
• Prototype ideas, validate with real customers, and ship valuable concepts as production systems.
• Design evaluations and measure quality against real customer data, considering non-deterministic behavior.
• Understand feature users and translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to highly scalable, reliable distributed systems for enterprise use.

What you'll need

• 13+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years focused on distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Strong full-stack knowledge including frontend systems like React and backend systems in Python and/or C#.
• Experience building production AI systems (e.g., LLMs, tool-calling, multi-agent architectures, orchestration frameworks, structured outputs, orchestration, and evaluation).
• Distributed systems experience with idempotency, replay ability, state management, and long-running jobs.
• Strong analytical thinking to reason quantitatively about system quality using imperfect signals.
• Ability to work across backend services and frontend layers (REST/GraphQL APIs and basic UI integration).
