Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer (Full Stack) for ABB’s Industrial Automation Digital Organization, responsible for designing and delivering scalable industrial software platforms.

What you'll do

• Lead architecture, design, and development of scalable full-stack applications using React/Angular and .NET.
• Drive engineering excellence by defining architecture standards, mentoring teams, and promoting best practices.
• Design and deliver secure, reliable, highly available industrial software solutions with cloud-native technologies and APIs.
• Integrate enterprise applications with automation platforms and real-time communication protocols (e.g., REST APIs, WebSockets).
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to reduce technical debt and improve performance.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of full stack software development experience.
• Strong expertise in .NET (C#) and ASP.NET Core.
• Strong expertise in React or Angular.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases and backend frameworks/ORMs.
• Experience with Azure or AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/K3s).
