Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Principal Software Engineer providing technical leadership across software platforms and services, shaping engineering standards, architecture, and delivery practices.

What you'll do

• Own the development and evolution of software systems and services using scalable, maintainable, reusable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle from architecture/design through deployment and operational support.
• Improve reliability, performance, security, observability, and resilience while promoting consistent engineering standards.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and platform engineering.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps, engineering standards, and architectural direction.
• Mentor engineers via design reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on collaboration.
• Partner with security, audit, risk, and compliance teams to implement technical controls and support regulatory requirements.

What you'll need

• 18+ years of proven experience combined with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Strong communication skills engaging engineers, architects, product teams, and senior leaders.
• Expertise in C#, Python, TypeScript or another modern programming language for production-grade software.
• Experience in software architecture, systems design, and developing secure, stable, testable, maintainable applications.
• Deep understanding of best practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control, testing, deployment, automation, and operations.
• Experience building, deploying, and operating distributed systems at scale with security, privacy, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational reliability knowledge.
• Expertise designing, deploying, and scaling solutions on AWS or Microsoft Azure.
