Overview
Principal Software Engineer for HubSpot’s Breeze Assistant platform, serving as the technical anchor for an AI-powered agentic system that delivers CRM-grounded, trustworthy outcomes.
What you'll do
- Define patterns for how AI agents safely interact with HubSpot’s CRM, agentic primitives, and third-party ecosystems.
- Set the bar for orchestrating deterministic and non-deterministic steps to balance trust, cost, and outcome quality.
- Extend the platform’s “artifact” surfaces so internal teams can build high-value deliverables in Breeze.
- Build technical bridges so growth context can evolve into an active collaborator in GTM work.
- Prototype and validate new GenAI capabilities, and decide when to ship versus wait for production infrastructure.
- Lead development of high-impact initiatives from prototype to production systems for a broad user base.
- Drive strategy for LLM evaluation, observability, guardrails, and data privacy to ensure trustworthy outputs.
What you'll need
- Proven expertise building and scaling high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems with strict reliability requirements.
- Deep experience with LLM orchestration, vector databases, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent frameworks.
- Experience designing autonomous or semi-autonomous agentic systems that handle tool-calling, complex state, and graceful failure recovery.
- Platform thinking to design primitives (skills, tools, APIs, agentic harnesses) for other builders.
- User-first mindset with a track record of building products people love, informed by sales/marketing pain points.
- Bias for action, turning ambiguity into plans and working software while balancing experimentation speed and production rigor.
