Principal Software Engineer - Solution Engineering – Customer Solution Validation

Overview

Lead customer solution validation, automation, quality engineering, and system-level testing for complex networking solutions and distributed platforms. Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and customer-facing validation engagements.

What you'll do

• Lead validation efforts for customer solutions and complex networking deployments.
• Develop scalable automation frameworks for functional, integration, resiliency, performance, and solution validation.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish continuous-validation practices.
• Validate distributed software and networking platforms at scale.
• Investigate complex failures using logs, metrics, traces, telemetry, and diagnostic frameworks.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives, technical workshops, and architecture reviews.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to patents, publications, standards, and architectural proposals.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of industry experience.
• Expert-level programming skills in Python, Go, or C++, with deep proficiency in at least one.
• Experience building automation platforms and integrating large-scale testing into CI/CD.
• Strong Linux/UNIX, networking, systems, and distributed-platform knowledge.
• Hands-on expertise validating multi-vendor networking environments and deployments.
• Expertise in system-level, end-to-end, resiliency, interoperability, scale, and performance testing.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, complex defect investigation, and multi-layer troubleshooting.

Nice to have

• Advanced expertise in Layer 2, Layer 3, TCP/IP, Routing, MPLS, EVPN, and data center technologies.
• Experience with network operating systems, cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, and distributed architectures.
• Working knowledge of JUNOS.
• Industry certifications such as JNCIA, CCIA, or equivalent.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Patents, publications, standards contributions, or architectural leadership.
