Overview
Principal Solutions Architect focused on designing quantum-safe network architectures and migration paths for network operators, enterprises, and government agencies.
What you'll do
- Design quantum-safe target architectures and migration paths across WAN, transport, data center, campus, segmentation, access control, key management, and underlying cryptography.
- Lead technical discovery and architecture workshops with network, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Assess current cryptography usage, identify brittleness, and build migration plans customers can execute.
- Own technical threads for complex pursuits including architecture proposals and RFI/RFP responses with Sales collaboration.
- Design and run proofs of concept, interoperability tests, and pilots involving PQC and hybrid key exchange, and where relevant QKD-integrated links.
- Translate field learnings into reusable architecture and migration materials (reference architectures, playbooks, matrices, design guides).
- Track standards and threat landscape progress (e.g., NIST PQC, IETF work) and keep guidance current.
What you'll need
- 15+ years designing and securing enterprise and/or service provider networks in solutions/security architecture or senior customer-facing engineering roles.
- Hands-on knowledge across network routing/switching, IP transport, segmentation, firewall/access control, VPN/encryption at the network layer, and Zero Trust.
- Multi-vendor network experience (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Nokia).
- Working knowledge of applied cryptography used in networks (TLS, IPsec, MACsec, PKI/certificate lifecycle, key management).
- Ability to work in front of customers, including leading workshops and engaging CISO/SVP-level stakeholders.
- Serious interest and grounding in post-quantum cryptography/crypto-agility and quantum key distribution/migration challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
