Procurement Manager

Overview

Procurement Manager role within ABB's Process Automation business, ensuring implementation, maintenance and compliance of purchasing and logistics activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Reports to Procurement Team Lead - Automation Sourcing.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies for automation and industrial project materials, sub-systems, and services.
• Lead competitive bidding, RFQ/RFP processes, techno-commercial evaluations, and contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Oversee end-to-end procurement operations including purchase order management, supplier follow-ups, expediting, and delivery tracking.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations including freight, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with Indian customs regulations, import/export policies, and statutory frameworks (e.g., DGFT, GST, EOU/SEZ norms as applicable).
• Execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures.
• Deliver and participate in training programs as required to ensure compliance and foster professional development.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related discipline).
• 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, and logistics, preferably in the automation, industrial technology, power, or electrical engineering sectors.
• Demonstrated experience in project-based sourcing for automation or industrial projects (e.g., DCS, SCADA, drives, switchgear, instrumentation, MV/LV panels).
• Prior experience working in companies of similar scale and complexity to ABB, automation/engineering firms.
• Proven track record of delivering cost savings, supply chain optimization, and supplier development in a project procurement environment.

Nice to have

• Postgraduate qualification (MBA / PGDM) in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Management.
• Professional certifications in Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CIPS) are an added advantage.
