Product Controller Senior Analyst, AYST

Overview

Senior analyst role in Product Control within Deutsche Bank's Business Finance function, responsible for accurate and timely daily P&L production, attribution and analysis for investment banking products.

What you'll do

• Produce daily T+1 P&L production, attribution and analysis accurately and on time.
• Provide daily commentary and variance investigation to Front Office traders and senior Finance managers.
• Investigate and resolve breaks: Model vs Actual (Ledger) Cash, FO/MO system vs trade docs, and similar.
• Resolve model risk control exceptions.
• Ensure compliance to risk and control guidelines.
• Manage stakeholders by responding promptly to queries and issues from Finance directors, onshore management, Front Office traders, Fincon, Risk management and others.
• Understand trade flows and booking structures, and ensure trades are captured accordingly to enable accurate funding cost allocation through Funds Transfer Pricing.
• Perform month-end close activities: SAP journals, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiations and reporting.
• Perform QA for processes within the team's remit and regularly assess the effectiveness of checks.
• Engage with CTB/SME (Change the Bank / Subject Matter Expert) to deliver change.
• Act as first level of escalation for team issues and stakeholder escalation.
• Manage timely resolution of product reconciliation break/exception items.
• Monitor exceptions, including investigation and explanation.
• Review balance sheet substantiation.
• Standardize processes across the business.
• Provide summary of KRIs for the business area and remediation plans where SLAs are missed and/or issues exist.
• Facilitate CTB initiatives and drive the continuous improvement program within the team.
• Ensure KOPs are reviewed for relevance and effectiveness on a timely basis.

What you'll need

• Financial control and product control experience in Investment Banking.
• Strong understanding of financial market products such as Loans, Bonds, Credit, Derivatives, Cash Equity, Swaps, Options and Futures.
• Solid Fixed Income product knowledge, i.e. Bonds, CDS, TRS, IRS and Loans.
• Strong knowledge/experience of front-to-back Investment Banking environment (trade capture to balance sheet).
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize responsibilities, and escalate issues as necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; strong Word and Excel skills required.
• Exposure to multiple front office systems.
• Education: preferably qualified MBA, Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimise workflows, applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Nice to have

• IFRS/GAAP knowledge.
