What you'll do

  • Act as the primary E&C partner for day-to-day advisory, risk identification, mitigation and escalation in assigned business area(s).
  • Support execution of the Country E&C plan in alignment with Global, Area and Country priorities, taking ownership for assigned workstreams and deliverables.
  • Provide practical, risk-based guidance to business and functional teams, enabling ethical and compliant decision-making without unnecessary escalation where matters fall within delegated responsibility.

  • Translate Global and Area E&C strategy into a practical, risk-based local plan.
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders and teams, providing coaching, guidance and constructive challenge.
  • Support preparing, operating and following up on local Risk, Ethics & Compliance Committee (RECC) activities or equivalent governance forums, as applicable.
  • Independently identify, assess and explain E&C risks in assigned business area(s), and define proportionate mitigation plans with business owners.
  • Review and constructively challenge high-risk or material local activities to determine compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and PTRB principles, and whether escalation is required.
  • Escalate material, systemic or unresolved local risks to the Country E&C Head and through the appropriate local E&C governance forum.
  • Lead or support risk-based monitoring and audit / assurance activities, tracking and remediating findings with accountable business owners.
  • Provide E&C input into investigations and issue resolution, using trends and root-cause analysis to improve programme effectiveness.
  • Promote integrity, psychological safety, speak-up and ethical decision-making through leader engagement, training, communications and coaching.
  • Build E&C capability within the LOC, developing practical guidance, tools and ways of working.
  • Provide timely local insights to the Country E&C Head to inform country risk prioritisation, capability planning and escalation.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Significant E&C, risk management and/or legal experience within a healthcare, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry.
  • Demonstrated experience independently partnering with business and functional stakeholders, influencing senior stakeholders and managing E&C matters in a local market or similarly matrixed environment.
  • Experience owning or independently driving E&C programme elements, controls, training, monitoring, remediation and continuous improvement activities.
  • Strong understanding of E&C programmes, governance, pharmaceutical regulations and key compliance risk areas.
  • Ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into practical business guidance.
  • Role model for Takeda Values, Takedaism and PTRB principles; demonstrates integrity, sound judgment and constructive challenge.
  • Self-directed, accountable and resilient, with the maturity to manage ambiguity, prioritise competing matters and operate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Independent business partnering, senior stakeholder influence and practical advisory skills.
  • Risk assessment, decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Communication, coaching, facilitation and change management.
  • Data-driven and digitally enabled approach to compliance and governance.
