Product Software Engineer II

Overview

Product Software Engineer II focused on building complex, performant web interfaces and reusable UI components for Disney’s advertising technology products. The role partners with product and backend teams across design systems, continuous deployment, and cloud-native applications.

What you'll do

• Provide hands-on UI engineering across product teams.
• Design and architect cloud-native, service-oriented UI components and applications.
• Review code and optimize complex applications with peers.
• Champion linting, unit testing, UI testing, and pipeline automation.
• Build and maintain design system standards and adoption.
• Investigate production issues from the user interface through the service layer.
• Mentor junior staff and help define engineering best practices.

What you'll need

• At least 3 years of web application development or software engineering experience in a large enterprise environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical field.
• Experience with React and Next.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, DOM interfaces, Web APIs, WebSocket, and REST patterns.
• Experience designing performant RESTful services with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes/Helm.
• Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Digital advertising experience.
• Experience working with vendor teams.
