Production Engineer Support, AVP

Overview

Support and improve production applications and infrastructure for Corporate Bank client-facing services. The AVP will lead proactive engineering, incident resolution, automation, monitoring, and service improvement in a controlled production environment.

What you'll do

• Automate manual work and improve monitoring and platform hygiene.
• Handle business queries and incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Analyse and remediate production performance and resiliency issues.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, and production stakeholders on risks and change conflicts.
• Maintain support documentation and participate in business continuity and component failure tests.
• Monitor events in a 24x7 workbench and act according to support documentation.
• Drive knowledge management and improve incident-resolution capability across the team.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of IT experience in large corporate or financial-services production environments.
• Strong production application support and ITIL practices experience.
• Experience with application support, complex infrastructure, log analysis, and debugging.
• Working knowledge of databases, SQL, UNIX/Linux, Java J2EE, Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Ansible.
• Experience with Geneos, Splunk, Grafana, New Relic, and Control-M.
• Knowledge of microservices, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, leadership, and people-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansible, Jenkins/Groovy, Python, or Java automation solutions.
• DevOps and continuous-integration experience.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve productivity and workflows responsibly.
• Global Transaction Banking experience.

• Education recommended: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an IT-related discipline, or equivalent experience or diploma.
• ITIL Foundation Certificate recommended.
