Production Planning & Control Manager

Overview

Aggreko is seeking a Production Planning & Control Manager based in Pune to drive end-to-end production planning, material coordination, capacity planning, inventory optimization and production scheduling, ensuring on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization and customer satisfaction.

What you'll do

• Develop and prepare Monthly, Weekly and Daily Production Plans and Master Production Schedules (MPS) based on customer demand and sales forecasts, balancing requirements against available capacity and ensuring adherence to production targets and delivery commitments.
• Analyze customer demand trends, forecast requirements, and conduct capacity planning for all resources (manpower, machinery, testing, assembly lines), identifying bottlenecks, recommending corrective actions, and supporting long-term capacity enhancement.
• Ensure timely availability of materials for production by coordinating with Procurement and Warehouse teams, monitoring shortages, expediting critical materials, driving material readiness and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Monitor daily production performance against plans, track schedule adherence and line productivity, manage production priorities, resolve planning conflicts and ensure smooth workflow across all production stages.
• Drive inventory optimization initiatives, monitor inventory turns and stock health, work to reduce excess, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and ensure accuracy of production-related inventory records.
• Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Logistics to resolve supply chain and production constraints and support New Product Introduction (NPI) planning requirements.

What you'll need

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (mandatory).
• 10-15 years of mandatory experience in Production Planning and Control (PPC).
• Experience in Make-to-Stock (MTS), Make-to-Order (MTO) and Configure-to-Order manufacturing environments.
• Strong proficiency in Production Planning & Control (PPC), Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Capacity Planning, Inventory Management, Demand Forecasting and Production Scheduling.
• Experience with ERP systems, BOM Management and Production Reporting.

Nice to have

• An MBA in Operations or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience within industries such as Genset Manufacturing, Power Equipment Manufacturing, Capital Goods, Electrical Equipment, Automotive OEMs or Heavy Engineering.
• Infor M3 knowledge.
• Demonstrated understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
• Proficiency in Power BI and Advanced Excel for KPI dashboard management and presentations.
